Hi,
I've recently set up my site and basic tracking for google analytics all seems to be working ok having tested with realtime.
However, having run a few tests of checking out and purchasing Analytics doesn't seem to be picking up events such as 'Add to Cart' 'Purchase' .
Just wondering should that be working or is that a limitation on the code of the site?
Thanks
Dan
Hi @danscape, thank you for your post! By default, Google Analytics won't track 'Add to Cart' or 'Purchase' event, but you can enable e-commerce tracking to do so. Let me know if that help!
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, yes I perhaps should have said I had already made sure the E-Commerce tracking setting was switched on in Google Analytics.
So if that is switched on then it should be able to track those events without me having to add an additional code?
Thanks
Dan
Thanks for letting me know @danscape. From my understanding, once you've enabled e-commerce tracking and your analytics code is in place, those events should be picked up. It might be worth reaching out to Google just to make sure everything has been enabled as well.
Hi,
I'm just coming back to this as I am still not seeing any E-Commerce data in my Google Analytics for the site.
I am seeing general Analytics data for visitors & real-time data but no events are being recorded and nothing relating to adding to cart/purchase data.
Can you check if there is anything else I need to check or set up my end?
Thanks
Dan
Hey @danscape,
Unfortunately I'm not able to provide any further advice here, other than the support article @tranguyen had linked and the corresponding Weebly support article linked in the Square one.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help! I recommend reaching out to Google for further help with this.
Still no joy on this one, I reached out to Google but no reply.
Can I just check this is just me with an issue - not a problem for others who are seeing Adds to Basket, and Checkouts in Google Analytics?
Also to confirm there are no other codes to be added in site settings for this to work. No codes on checkout pages, no codes in the <head>
Facebook Pixel seems to be working ok and picks up these events. If it's just me I can try and remove the integration and create a new property etc but GA is definitely picking up everything except E-Commerce events.
Really sorry about this @danscape. One thing we can try is to input the specific tracking codes for these events here. You can find this section by logging in to your Square Online site > Settings > General > Tracking.
Let me know if that will help at all!
