Feature request: options for variations in the online store

Hi, I would love to be able to have different options for variations in my online store. 

I understand that I can hide an entire item but, ideally, I would be able to hide just a variation or use different pickup and delivery timelines for some variations. 

Our bakery offers cakes in many sizes. Our 6" and 8" cakes are always in stock. 10", 12" and sheet cake sizes are always special orders, ideally 24 hours in advance. All cake sizes are variants of a single cake type. (See the example for our princess cake below.) 

Ideally I could keep these sizes available and attached to the parent cake type but require 24 hours for anything 10" or up. It's nice to signal to people that we can accommodate large parties and sizes since you don't see those in the shop. 

Similarly, I would like to be able to make some variants hidden. It seems silly to have the pumpkin princess, which we only sell in the fall, shown year round.

I could solve this by creating a two different princess cake items, one for stock and one for custom orders, but this complicates reporting by cake type and has other PoS implications for the staff.

Do you see this coming in the future?

Setting specific pick up instructions for item variations as well as hiding them is not doable with Square's Online Store. 

To hide your pumpkin spice cake, you'll need to create it as an individual item. For your special order cakes, it might be best to add your order policy in the item description box so your customers can see when they place an order.
