Feature request: Filter by zero stock or auto hide zero stock

Need a simple way to hide zero stock levels.

Can we have a filter to show zero stock so we can batch edit them as unavailable or can we have a button/option that will auto-hide items with zero inventory?

Or can we batch edit with a CSV file?

Anything would be good rather than editing each item.

With 2000+ items this is a big problem.

Hey @Stranger,

You should be able to edited item availability on a per-location basis via a spreadsheet. Check out this help article on how to export / import inventory spreadsheets and let me know if you have any questions!

When editing with spreadsheets be sure to always make a backup copy of each spreadsheet you export in case you need to roll changes back!

Thanks for the reply.

This seems to focus on square inventory and not the online store.

How do you bulk hide stuff via the online store to stop amazing lots of sold-out products and managing these items 1 by 1 by making them unavailable?

Apologies for the confusion @Stranger!

I get what you mean, I tried testing just now via Square Online and there's no way to filter the item list by number of items in stock, which does make it difficult to bulk hide items not in stock. Depending on how many items you're regularly looking at changing it may be more convenient to leave them up with the "out of stock", though you'd have to weight that up against showing your customer more results with items they can actually purchase.

I'm passing your comments on as a feature request.

With that said, if you've not already tested, I'd still try the aforementioned solution via the Square Dashboard inventory. This will sync with Square Online so it's possible this may achieve the desired result - though it's not something I've tried myself!

Thanks for the reply.

I think I realised that csv was messy and not a sustainable option.

A simple feature to sort by stock level and combined with the easy bulk edit function seems to be a simple fix here.

Looking through the old weebly boards looks like many people are requesting this feature.

Tbh it's a poor customer experience scrolling through tons of out of stock items and at the moment with COVID the supply chain means we are awaiting stock and things are delayed. Simply hiding them is the best option, just very labour intensive.

Thanks for the reply
