Feature Request: Edit or Delete previously used Coupons

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "Why can't old coupons be activated... or deleted so I can reuse the name."

Why can't I delete old coupons or reactive them... there should be no reason I can't start and stop a simple 10% off coupon during various sales. Square please correct this gigantic oversight as a company. Much too complicated to not have this be an options. Now my coupons don't work unless the name is different which is really unnecessary.

Welcome back to the Square Community, @nchammock42 and thank you for your post.

I reached out to the Square Online Team to see if they could provide any context on this. They let me know that, when using vanity code coupons, you can duplicate expired coupons to create a brand new coupon with the same information as the expired one. You can edit any of the coupon details as needed, once created.

You can follow these steps to duplicate:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Marketing & loyalty > Marketing > Coupons.

  2. Under an active coupon code, click ••• > Cancel coupon. The coupon status will change from Active to Expired.

  3. Under an expired coupon code, click ••• > Duplicate.

As far as deleting old coupons goes, this would be considered a feature requestTo learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators. If you'd like to, you can add your use case to the existing Ideate feature request thread here.

I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions.
