Editing the item page for longer item descriptions

Our products have lengthy descriptions. At the moment, the item description is bunched into a single column which makes the item page very long and frankly looks terrible. We can't seem to add a section under the item picture/price, where we could put the description instead? Most basic Web design packages allow this or tabs to be added for additional info. Is there a solution to this? If there isn't, we'll have to go with an alternative - not what we want to do but we need this most basic option.

At the moment where the deception sits on live Square Online sites cannot be edited.

Thanks @Breffni for the reply. Unfortunately this is a show-stopper for us. With a description longer than a paragraph, it makes the page look terrible and very "amateurish". I find it hard to accept that with such a good offering and on-line site, this most basic of options isn't available! Even the most rudimentary of website builders allows additional information tabs and/or sections to be added to enable more detailed/longer descriptions/info. Surely just a simple alteration to the code could allow an additional section below the picture/price/description section but above the "similar items" section?

 

Because of this we're going to have to go with an alternative and lose all the work we've put in and investment we've made in using Square, not just for transaction processing but to base our whole on-line business process, stock, management etc. All the great features of Square. We'll stay with Square for transaction processing and managing card payments but will have to integrate that with a proper website builder more suitable for ecommerce.

 

Have to say I'm very, very disappointed.

I completely understand your frustration, and I appreciate your candid feedback. This functionality has been raised by others as well so should there be a positive update on this in future, I'll let you know here! 

 

I'm glad that you can still use Square for your in-person transactions, if there's ever anything I can help with on that front, just let me know.
