Hello,
When I navigate to the "Domains" section on square online, my status says connected but when I click on the "Manage" button on my domain, it says "Disconnected" and won't let me change it to any of the other options to connect.
I connected a domain I outside of square to use for my website about 24 hours ago. Could I still be in the waiting period for the DNS to propagate? How long does it usually take for this to work?

DNS changes can take 24-48 hours to propagate, so it may take time for your site to start working.

Could you help me again with this? When I go to who.is and look at "DNS Records" for my site, I still see the www A type as the old IP address even after updating it on gandi to the 199.34.228.164 IP. Do I need to do anything else or just keep waiting? It's been between 24 and 48 hours now

Thanks @felasfamous, as the ' www.felasfamous.com A record' is incorrect this will need to be updated again.
The site won't propagate until this is updated - Squares IP address is 199.34.228.164 - .191.
I would definitely reach out to your previous host to enquire why the update didn't stick the first time you put it through, and make sure it is set correctly next time.

The IP address still does not match the one on who.is when I search my domain even after updating it on the domain site I use (gandi)

Make sure your type A DNS records have a value of 199.34.228.164
both the “www” and “@“ records
there should only be two type A records, a “www” and “@“
