Does Square prohibit Delta 8 and Delta 9 products?

I received a notification from Square that states “We do not accept payments for hemp and derivatives of cannabis and/or drug paraphernalia. Please stop selling paraphernalia associated with the following ***KAVA*”

The product we sell is Hemp Tea that has Kava Root, so it sounds like we need to remove that product.

My question is specific to “hemp and derivatives of cannabis”. Because the reality and scientific fact is, ALL hemp is a derivative of Cannabis, specifically Cannabis Sativa. Does Square prohibit Delta 8 and Delta 9 products?

As the Community is not the same as Customer Support, you may want to discuss your concerns directly with them.  We can't speak for Square's Policies dealing with certain item or products as there can be possible gray areas.  All we can do is refer to this link however, it's up to Customer Support to make any decisions.
