Hi,
Does anyone know if a quick way to add categories to a product now? You used to be able to select the categories which you wanted your product to feature in - this doesn't seem to be the case anymore - you are redirected to a category page which you have to go through each product and add and its very time consuming!
Anyone else noticed this?

It sounds like this is a new update related to some changes being made with both online and in-person items in Square Item Library moving to managed in the same place, which our team are in the process of rolling out. It hasn't made it to my Dashboard yet which is why I couldn't replicate it however I tested on another account and can see the process you've described.

I'd be happy to help. Can you share some details of where you are working from when you are adding items to categories?
Do you manage it from the Item List in your Square Online Overview or within the Site Editor?
I’ve tested both methods and wasn’t able to replicate what you are experiencing.
When I add items or categories from 'Site Items' or 'Site Categories,' a pop-up box with a bulk update option appears.
Similarly, in the Site Editor, I get a pop-up box that allows me to select multiple items.
Could you provide more details or share a screenshot when you have a moment?

It is within the Online, Items section. When creating a product I used to be able to add categories that the product was to go into. This function is gone and replaced with a function that opens up a separate window; which only lets you select the category & then go through each product to add to the category - the complete opposite of what was there before.
Then: create product or amend product and select category/s
Now: you have to select the category and go through each product in the category to decide what you need to add - very time consuming.
I have found a way of making it easier whereby I go into the items library (not the "online" option).
There doesn't seem to be an option to add a screenshot - the insert option/icon only asks for source/dimensions & description??
