Can I hide address on pickup/delivery option?

We run our small business from home and are fairly very private people. Is there a way to not have an address for buyers to select as an option for when they selects pickup/delivery?

The only address we have is our home address and we always deliver items or meet buyers in a safe public location. We prefer to not have the private home address linked and local strangers knowing where we live, but this is seemingly unavoidable with a Square shop. We do use a P.O. Box for our shipping address with our labels on Etsy and our Facebook page shows that we are a "mobile" business with "My Page doesn't have a location" as the option for address we have selected. It only shows our town. We also don't feel comfortable using another businesses address for our meeting location since it's obviously not our place.

We would like an option for buyer to select either pickup or delivery and, once order is placed, we email them to figure out the details. Is there a way to do this or do we have to avoid pickup/delivery all together and just stick to shipping?

I checked with our team, and this isn't on the radar at the moment, @_KD_.

Have you considered creating a dummy location?

You could then follow up with the buyer post-sale to communicate the actual pickup location.

Another solid option would be to use Square Online checkout links - have you looked into this yet?

Hey @nickytickytipsy

This is still a feature request that’s becoming quite popular. If we have any updates to provide, we will make sure to let you know.

Hello @elysiandecalco.

We're really happy to see you in our Seller Community! You can't remove your address from the pickup and delivery settings. What I recommend is to set up the services as shipping and state that the item will not be shipped.

Let me know if this is an option for you?

Did you ever get a resolution? 4 years later and I am looking for the same option!

Nearly five years after the original submission here and - has this still not been resolved? I want to offer multiple meetup locations for "pick up" and would like to communicate that after purchase. Buyers should be able to choose "pickup in Crozet, Richmond, Sandston - location determined after purchase" without requiring a physical address for each of those options.

Why isn't this something that has been integrated yet? I want to add up pick up as an easy option but I don't want my home address right on the item page. I don't want to have to set up a dummy location or send customer links. I would rather my item screen said Local Pick Up- Frederick MD then my entire home address. I want it to be easy. Like show the full address in the cart or have a "am I close for pick up" search bar. I do not have a store front, and would like to maintain some sort of privacy.

I agree! Square doesn’t seem to care about our safety or privacy! The fact that this is still an issues and something that hasn’t been integrated is absolutely ridiculous!

2026, I just saw that my home address is displayed on the square website.  I use the 3rd party delivery option.  If I make a dummy location, will door dash/uber/nash get my real address?  As it is they dont call me or no info is given that they are on their way.

Hello, is there an update on this feature request? Because I can't turn off SHOWING MY ADDRESS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, WHICH PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK - I'm considering moving my business entirely to Hotplate because of this feature alone. I don't understand why this wouldn't be prioritized by Square... seems they would want their customers to feel safe and secure, but this thread started in 2021. Is there any progress over the past 5 years of customers wanting this feature @Valentina @sayra @Square @BernadetteA? Please update me and this thread as soon as possible.

That's literally the only reason I left square because of that. I actually liked how simple it was  to function their websites. I will throw an olive branch and say I think the address shows so that way, they know how many square miles to deliver. So let's say for instance, you don't deliver to like Michigan, but you live in New York City. Maybe it's to show the square miles of your delivery zone from your house. But at the same time, there's gotta be a way to progress. This like you said, like, instead of showing within square miles of your actual address, maybe they could do.If you live in whatever city you live in, they can just put whatever square miles from your zip code or the actual city versus the actual street address.

We own a Wood Fired Pizza food truck and restaurant so what I am about to say may seem a little lopsided/related to F&B type businesses.

1. A few things to think about in relation to this feature request-and related to issues I have in our business.  When you put in differnet pickup locations (Locations for your business) you will often find that customers choose the wrong location, and often turn up in the wrong location to collect their order.  The mistake is purely them not paying attention to what they are doing, however, they will always blame you/square/the system for the mistake.  Having multiple pickup locations can and will be and issue from my experience.

2. You can create a dummy pickup locations, or more importantly if there is a location you use regularly to organise pickups, use this address.  Remove your home address and have one main pickup location set to this location.

3. In your online ordering set up a message to say-pickup will be organised directly with you-location to be confirmed.

I can see how makers or home based businesses may want to have this changed, but I cannot see this would be a big priority as most of the businesses using pickup are using it from a physical shop, location or regular food truck location for example.  I also can't see that the option for several pickup locations would benefit the vast majority of businesses however I can see that there may be benfits for some.

If you choose to set up several locations just be aware that it may cause you more personal stress and issues with some customers.  Better in my opinion to have one pickup location for the majority of your orders.

Hope this helped.
