Can Customers apply a discount code during the Square Appointments online booking flow?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Discount Code of Services at Checkout.

Is there a way that customers can enter a discount code when booking services?
I have created a discount code to be used, but when I go to book the service, there is no option to enter a discount or code. I read a thread from 2023 that this function was coming as it has been highly requested... where is it??

Thanks for your question, @BMY.

The ability to apply discount codes during the Square Appointments online booking flow isn't available at this time, but I can confirm this feedback is definitely on our Product Team's radar.

Many Sellers have expressed interest in this functionality, and it's something our team hopes they can implement in the future.

Unfortunately, I don't have a specific timeline I can share with you right now. Once we have more news to share on this, we'll provide an update here on the Community to let everyone know.

If you have any other questions about Square Appointments, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Hi @BMY ,

If you want to apply a discount here some workarounds I've come across from other sellers on the forums. They are not great, but they may work for you.

- Simplest one is have the customer put the discount code in the message area when booking and apply the discount when you checkout in person. If you are worried about no-shows the booking can be with a credit hold and a no-show policy.

- Theres moving to Acuity, which is available in the Square marketplace. Its purpose built for service businesses. You can still use Square as the payment processor https://app.squareup.com/us/en/app-marketplace/app/acuity-scheduling

- If you don't mind manually creating individual payment links, you could create a payment link when someone books and send that to them. You can customize the payment link to accept coupons. This is a bit tedious but may be workable if your customers book far enough in advance that you can set up and send the payment links to them.

- There is also just straight up leaving Square for another service that specializes in service businesses. There are a lot of other options. A quick Google or ChatGPT(the new thing) will bring up a bunch of choices. Make sure to read the reviews.

- There is one more crazy option that I thought that I'm pretty sure would work. You sell appointment slots as regular inventory item in Square Online(like "Monday 11/25 - 9am" as product variation) Customers can use coupons and gift cards since its just a regular purchase. And then you manually create the actual appointment in Square Appointments. Its a ton of manual work and there are some details to get right but it would and it could even be automated with Square's APIs

Anyway, Good luck, hope this helps
