Bookmarking website as a homescreen icon for smart phone.

Once we publish our site and start taking live orders, if our customers want to create an icon on their smartphone home screen, will our site logo be used?

HI, after a quick Google search, yes, you will be able to make a home screen icon with the home page image.

Thanks for the tip,  I tried the steps and was able to bookmark our online shop - I didn't get the Fav Icon Graphic like our website has but, I still was able to get an Icon with our business name - actually never tried doing this before but, the end result is OK.

Hmm, perhaps I’m missing something as this is what I get when I bookmark our site. How is it that yours is black?

Are you using the dark mode setting - that would flip the colors.

I’m not but I suppose that makes sense. 

As for customers being prompted to add it to their homescreen via their online order confirmation (as seen in my previous post), I no longer see it visible on those confirmations so, perhaps it’s a feature that’s being tested at the moment. 

As for adding it to your own device, yes, the instructions given by @Goldneye is the standard, at least as far as iPhone is concerned.

Thank you Terri for the reply.  I am aware that the site can be put as a homescreen icon.  I am also aware of how to do it.  What I am asking though is about is the image of the icon on the homescreen.  Does it use our businesses logo?  Or does it use an icon of the web browser?

HI, I created an icon on my iphone to see how it looks.  You can create one of the website you are creating to see how it will look.

@Goldneye, i also created one of your site to see what it would look like.  It appears to be a somewhat cropped screenshot of the website.

i am a programmer and know how to bypass this so that the icon is only our business logo.  Yet it does not appear that we have access to change the we code on our square online store.

I just noticed this little feature while checking a customers online order receipt, logged in to post about this very subject and stumbled across this post. 

I too would like to know if our digital receipt logo can be substituted for the very basic, merchant name as seen here in my screenshots?
