Hello,
There must be a logic error in Square's billing for delivery-
We transparently pass on the delivery fees to our customers if they choose delivery as an option. We only allow local deliveries through Uber/Postmates.
My customer was charged - and shown in the picture, total delivery fee of $6.30. However Uber/Postmates' charge came as total (see description in the picture) $10.50. I confirmed that indeed $10.50 was deducted, not $6.30.
However, if I enter the customer's address manually in the rate estimate portion of the website, I correctly get $6.30 as the total delivery fee; which makes me think somehow the application logic is counting the base rate ($4.20) twice, and essentially being charged to the merchant even though we choose to pass on 100% of the fees to the customers.
Please fix this, we'll have to disable the delivery option until then.
Hi @aplusburger - sorry for the confusion here. The "Total Fees Applied" line item includes the delivery fee, delivery driver tip, and the per-order $1.50 dispatch fee. So for the order above, that's $6.30 + $2.70 + $1.50. We'll look at ways to make this more clear going forward. As a reminder, you can change any of your delivery settings (such as modifying the service fee) to make the economics work for you and your business.
