Bar inventory

Hi we run a small bar with packaged items, pours and cocktails.  Does anyone have any clue how to track inventory of spirits etc?  I can track all packaged beer no problem.  Wine I can track by the bottle however once we open a bottle to sell by the glass it obviously puts our stock level out.  Further there appears to be no way to record inventory for spirits by the measure (30mL/15mL).  I could only track the number of unopened bottles I have.
Anyone with more insight.  Thank you 🙂

Hi @nightowlstudio!

Yes, you can achieve this using Square’s stock conversion feature. This lets you track inventory for items sold in multiple units - like bottles, glasses, or individual servings. You can create custom sell-by units (e.g., “glass” or “shot”) with tailored names or abbreviations to help with service.

You'll initially set this up in your Square Dashboard, but sell-by units can be edited or deleted directly from the Square app.

To use stock conversion, you'll need an active Square for Retail or Square for Restaurants Plus or Premium subscription.
