Allow purchase for out of stock items

I have seen many post asking about the ability to track inventory but still allow customers to purchase.  We can replenish our inventory from our supplier to fulfill orders even when we reach 0, but still need to be able to track stock on hand.   This would be extremely helpful.!

I'm a little confused as to exactly what you have in mind - for example, if using the inventory feature, when an item in stock reaches "0", the system marks the item "out of stock" and it cannot be purchased at this point.  Are you thinking you don't want that feature so regardless if you have no inventory, the item can still be purchased as it is now coming from your supplier.  Sorry, just curious and having additional details may help others here offer some thoughts.  Else, what you have in mind could be considered a "Feature Request" for an option to be considered down the road.

On a side note, there seems to be a glitch with Square's "Buy Now" feature whereas even though you have the inventory feature enabled and set so you cannot sell any additional items when it's sold out, the system will allow you to order as many items as you want.  Note, this only appears to be happening with "Buy Now" buttons (at least from my testing).  Unfortunately this is not good for people who rely on the inventory feature.  Just tossing that out there to see if others have encountered the same results.

So for example, we purchase 50 to keep a minimum inventory on hand.  We need to be able to track those 50 units, but when it reaches 0, I dont want the online store to display Out of Stock, and customers still should be able to buy it, because I can purchase more.  It'd be the same for any Square merchant who makes custom product...they need to manage the stock of what they have, but still sell when it hits 0 because they can make more.  We offer local delivery or shipping for fulfillment options.

I don't believe there is a way to not show "out of stock" when using the inventory feature - that's by design.  That would be a feature request for future consideration.

Absolutely, I have the same problem in my embroidery/printing business where I carry blank stock to adorn for a variety of clients to purchase online. The item is only out of stock until I take an order and print or embroider on it
