Adding videos to item listings?

I was hoping to be able to add some videos to my item listings. I read in another post where that's not possible, but that using a GIF was a workaround. I tried doing this, but it doesn't work. I can add the gif, but it isn't animated at all. I don't know if it's something I'm doing, or a setting I need to change, or if it just doesn't work that way. Any help is appreciated!

I've found the same issue and I'm hoping to find a solution. I can upload an animated GIF and it plays in the image library. I can assign it to an item and it plays in edit item and the item inventory. It does not play on any web page such as the item page or the order page. I tried both preview and published. Has anyone solved this or worked around it?
