My older items that I added to my website allow customers to add them to the cart. The newer items only allow them to checkout and pay for one item at a time. I have updated browsers on all of my devices and I don't see the Add to Cart option.
I went to settings and I selected the Add to Cart option in the Checkout Settings for the whole site.
We want to do that too. There doesn't seem to be an "add to cart" button option.

Can you post a link to your website so we can confirm the settings? You should see the option for Add to Cart if you navigate to the Square Online dashboard, then click Settings > Checkout > Advanced Settings.
