Hi, I recently set up a website and used a domain name which was purchased through Crazy Domains. I followed the prompts and believe I have the i.p pointed to the right address, even tried it twice, but my site shows as not secure. I realise it takes a few days for an ssl certificate to be activated but it’s been close to a week now and it hasn’t changed. I am unsure if the SSL is something that is activated by Weebly, if it needs to be rectified through Crazy Domains, or if there is something else I need to do? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi @morusticcreate,
Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to our community!
Generally, the reason your SSL can't be propagated would be because of the failure to recognize our IP address. You will need to make sure that the only records on your domain are as follows;
1 A - type Record with the host/value set as the "@" or the * symbol (depends on your registrar) pointing to "199.34.228.164"
&
Another A type Record with the host value as "www" and pointing to "199.34.228.164".
After that, your SSL should propagate within 24-48 hours from setting the proper settings. You can let Crazy Domains know about these requirements if you're not sure where to edit this in your Crazy Domains dashboard.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Are you saying that there can be absolutely no other domain records other than these two in the Domain Management at the other registrar? Does Square offer domain management for external domains?
Thanks for reaching out, @vanityfur 👋
It is not possible to manage DNS records for an external domain. All of the editing must be done through your domain account.
You can certainly have additional DNS records setup for the domain, however, you cannot have any conflicting A-records for the root domain (@ or *) or for the WWW subdomain. You also cannot have any AAAA records setup, as they will interfere with the SSL certificate working properly.
Are you having trouble with the SSL on your website? If so, please confirm the domain name, and we'll take a look. Please also feel free to post a screenshot of your DNS settings if you are unsure of anything.
Can you please clarify what this means:

Can there be no IPv6 records whatsoever (AAAA) or just none for the root domain and www subdomain?
Hi @MTW_Michael,
Stepping in while @BernadetteA is out.
I've reached out to our team and can confirm that you cannot add AAAA to your iPv6 address either.
I just want to mark this as closed with an update. It was a Square issue. I had to call Square to get it resolved. They maintain that it was just time to sort itself out in the ether... but it got resolved within 2 minutes of me getting off the phone from Square support. Coincidence? So if you have this problem, call them, and ask them to resolve it.
