Tap To Pay on Android

I'm still having problems creating and operating: Android mobile phone contactless Tap Payments cards and Digital Wallets. My phone and account says Tap To Pay on Android  is enabled.  However, I  don't see the option come up at checkout. Only 'manual card entry. Please, could someone help. This is a great BRILLIANT  feature, if it works...

Hey @TheBlackpoundma - to try and figure this one out I think we need to know the phone make and model along with the version of Android along with the app version.

Hi @TheBlackpoundma - thanks for flagging this.

Yes - if you could let us know the brand and model device you have it will help us troubleshoot here!

Have you taken any Tap to Pay payments yet? Your device needs to have NFC capabilities in order to use Tap to Pay.

You can check if your device is compatible here. From there, here is a video that takes you through enabling Tap to Pay on your device and taking a payment.

Let us know how it goes 🙂

I'm having a problem with this too.... I have pixel 8 pro and NFC is enabled, but the app says tap to pay is unavailable.. odd thing is, at a market last week I found this out and installed the app on my partners phone... identical model and it worked! don't understand why. I obviously need it to work on my phone as she won't be there all the time!

Thanks for letting us know @nmc77141, that is strange. I can see the Pixel 8 Pro listed as compatible with Tap to Pay too.

Can you check if your device has developer mode enabled? If so, turning it off should solve the problem. I found a YouTube video guide on how to do that here.

Can you turn the device off and on again after doing this and then try to Tap to Pay and let me know how it goes? Thanks!
