Hey Team,
I’ve encountered an issue with inventory management that could be improved for greater flexibility.
Currently, it’s not possible to change the unit of measurement while doing an inventory count or receiving inventory. This creates a challenge when dealing with items that are purchased in bulk but used or measured in smaller units.
Here’s an example:
- I buy a case of tomatoes (25 lbs) and list it as a "case" in my master inventory. I also break it down into smaller units (pounds and ounces) for operational purposes.
- During inventory counts, I can only record full cases. I can’t count partial quantities (e.g., 12 lbs or 3 ounces), which leads to inaccurate or impractical reporting.
Suggestion:
- Introduce the ability to toggle between different units of measurement (e.g., cases, pounds, ounces) directly in the inventory management interface. This would allow businesses like mine to count inventory more accurately and align with real-world usage.
I hope this is something that can be considered for future updates, as it would greatly improve the system for businesses handling bulk or variable-sized items.
