"not compatiable" message on iPad 2

point of sale was I pad Air 2 struck by lightening. New is Apple I Pad 2 MC769LL/A 9.7......when attempt to pair card reader "not compatiable system" and gives no alternate but to see the retail sales for Square....any other answers. Thanks

Hello @jeannequeenie! The Square Contactless and Chip Card Reader is only compatible with iPad 2, if you have the Square Stand for iPad 2. Otherwise you will need at the least, an iPad 3 to connect it via Bluetooth. 

How did your old iPad get struck by lighting? I hope you weren't hurt! 😀
