Hey @dson

You are asking for a couple of different things and I am just trying to think of the best way to help.

Can you explain why you would want surcharge as an amount?

are you referring to a cover charge for each person sitting to eat? if so i would create a item in your menu to add to each invoice as the cover charge for sitting to eat i.e. $5 per person. if that is what you want to do. This would be a manual process and you would have to add the cover charge to each invoice

Or do you have a different price for Weekday in and Weekend for the same item? so for example a Caesar Salad is $10 Weekday and $15 Weekend? if so I would create "weekday" and "Weekend" options on that item with different prices.

You could also duplicate your items and have them on separate tabs one tab for weekdays and one for Weekends with different prices.

You could also try using square for Square Restaurants POS which will allow you to configure different menus one for weekdays and one for weekends. this would also require you duplicate your menu for weekday and weekend but would only require you to change to the appropriate menu.

If you want to have a Public Holiday surcharge, I use Sales Tax for a 15% surcharge. I just have to turn it on and off on each public holiday. you can make it item specific if you don't want to include a specific item.

Hope this helps

Hi Chris thanks for your help. What we were trying to do is have two prices for each item that activate at specific times. That way customers don’t see annoying surcharges on their bills they just see the prices of what they ordered as all additional costs are added to the item for example

dish 1 Monday to Friday costs $15

dish 1 Saturday and Sunday costs $18

Hey @dson

I understand now your requirements.

I believe the easiest way to do this would be to create 2 seperate menu's one for weekdays and one for weekends. If you are using Square for POS you would effectively duplicate all the items and set the weekend prices at a higher rate. Name weekday item as "Dish 1" and weekend item as "Dish 1 SS" customers won't know that the SS stands for Saturday Sunday, but you and you staff know exactly what it means.

I believe if you use Square for restaurant you can set up seperate menu's. One for weekdays and one for weekends. Restaurants have lunch and dinner menus with different items and prices. I don't use the restaurant software so not too familiar with how the menu system works.

I hope this helps.
