Will the square terminal show customer loyalty? I currently have to turn my stand around. I have the square iPad with the stand and a reader. I want to add a receipt printer and wondered if the square terminal would work for the customer screen, the loyalty program, and a receipt.

@CABTeahouse I’m assuming that you are thinking about connecting a Square Terminal to your POS as a Connected Terminal?  If so, the answer is yes it will!  I’ve been using it that way all year and I even participated in the original beta group when it was first tested.  Properly configured, it displays the loyalty screen at the end of the transaction for the customers to either skip or sign up, as well as showing them their point status and print/send receipts.  And it has the benefit of allowing all payment types from swipe to contactless.  It also, based upon configuration, shows a detail screen of every item ordered for the customer to review before paying.  I’m completely sold on the connected terminal and my customers really love it.

 

I’ll add one thing to keep in mind.  If a customer pays with cash, you currently will still have to turn your iPad around for them to sign up for the Loyalty program.  Or take the information from them and key it in.  I’ve put in a feature request to give us a button on the iPad to collect that information from cash customers on the connected terminal.  But it’s just that, currently — a request.

That’s exactly what I needed. I have the same situation and was hoping for an answer before purchasing more equipment. Thank you so much. I will soon add the terminal.
