Wifi Printer prints test page from Square Register but won't print kitchen tickets

As far as I can tell I have set the printer profile correctly, enabling in person order tickets and online order tickets and have selected our category (bagels) for printing to the printer (for kitchen).

 

The printer will print the test page but I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't print orders.

 

I have attached the current profile settings if you are able to tell me what I have done wrong that would be great!

Hi @Leigh, thanks for posting. I know it can be frustrating when everything seems set up correctly but itโ€™s still not working as expected. Can you confirm the printer and model number youโ€™re using? In the meantime, Iโ€™ll take a deeper dive into this.

 

Just a heads up, Iโ€™m about to head off for the weekend, so I wonโ€™t be able to follow up until next week. Iโ€™ll also tag some Square

I wish I was more of an expert- we don't use wireless printers just Zebra label printers ๐Ÿ˜ž

The printer is this guy:

Star TSP100IIILAN 2B9

The wesbite I purchased it from is

all-in-one-printer.store

 

The business is Auslanka, I had received help from them to set up the printer and had actually have it print a kitchen ticket but it would not do it again when I came in the next day (I know that is not helpful).

The IP address for it is: 192.168.1.101

 

The OS version of my Square register is: 5.61.0102

Hey @Leigh I am still looking into this. In the meantime, have you tried deleting and recreating the printer station? Also, can you confirm the serial numbers of the register?

I am not seeing any reports of this issue happening on my end. Can you try these printer troubleshooting steps and if you are still having issues please reply back with the app version with your device is on.

I'll have a look at my settings once I get into the shop. I don't have any wifi printers but technically if you are able to select the wifi printer, then they should just print.

Since the printer prints a test page, the hardware and network connection look fine. In most Square setups, this usually points to a station or routing issue rather than the printer itself.

Iโ€™d suggest deleting and recreating the printer station, then double-checking that the printer is assigned specifically to kitchen tickets and that the item categories match exactly. A restart of both the printer and the Square Register after saving changes can also help.

To rule out printer-side issues, it can be useful to print a basic printer test page outside of Square first. Many technicians use online printer test page tools like MyPrintTest during troubleshooting to confirm the printer is working normally before focusing only on POS settings.
