Why is my hotspot considered an “Unsecured Network”

I just bought a Square Register. I was recent using just an IPad and the Square holder. When I was using that, my hotspot worked fine. With this register, it keeps saying my hotspot is an unsecured network. I have tried my families as well and it says the same thing. I tried looking it up and it states an unsecured network for hotspot is when there isn’t a password required but I do require a password to use it. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated!

Hey @guyertiffany 👋 Thanks for your patience here.

Square Register requires an internet connection in order to process card payments. We suggest that you connect your Square Register to the internet through a Wi-Fi network or Ethernet connection. When you don’t have an internet connection available, you can use Offline Mode to take payments and upload those payments at a later time when you are able to connect to a network.

I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions.
