Why do my EOD reports not match my daily sales reports.

I've only started noticing it this week. Prior weeks are fine. For example. My daily sales in the square app is $110. But my email eod report says $61. Thanks!

Hi, @Tara52 ! Welcome to the Square Community!

These discrepancies could be occuring for several different reasons, and I'll outline them below. If none of these seem to be the reason, let me know and I will escalate further to our reporting team.

Are You Looking at Net Sales vs. Gross Sales?

  • In the app: You might be seeing Gross Sales (before refunds, discounts, or fees).

  • In the EOD email:

    • Refunds

    • Discounts

    • Canceled transactions

    • Tips (sometimes reported separately)

Compare both numbers on a per-line-item basis inside your dashboard to confirm.

Is There a Time Cutoff Issue?

  • Your Square EOD report is based on a calendar day (midnight to midnight) by default.

  • If you changed the business hours or time zone recently in Square, or if you're open late, some sales may be falling into the wrong reporting window.

Are Some Sales Marked as "Pending" or "Offline"?

  • Sales made offline (no Wi-Fi or signal) might not show up until later.

  • These may be excluded from the EOD report but appear later in the app once they’re processed.

Are You Filtering by Location or Device?

  • If you have multiple locations, devices, or team members, make sure the filters are the same across both reports.

To Fix or Confirm:

  • Go to your Square Dashboard (on desktop)

  • Visit Reports > Sales Summary

  • Compare Gross Sales, Net Sales, and any filters applied

  • Cross-check with your EOD email for that same date

Some of these may not be relevant to your business, but I wanted to cover all the bases in case other business owners came upon this thread. 😁

I hope this helps!
