Why can’t I pair Terminal with Register??

Unless I’m missing something, there is no way to pair a Terminal with a Register and use it to collect payments. You can pair it with a phone, an iPad, or a Virtual Terminal, but not with a Register. This seems really shortsighted. I paid for the most expensive hardware option (Register), then paid for Terminal. Give me the option to use terminal to collect payments for orders I input on Register, please! Yes, there are workarounds, but they involve many more actions and touches just to enable a customer to pay. And yes. I know Terminal is “a complete self-contained POS,” but I don’t want to ask my employees to enter orders on that tiny screen when we have a nice big screen sitting right on the counter. Nearly every other POS platform has some kind of wireless terminal to receive payments (from drive-thru customers, for example), but Square can’t seem to get this one right. Any help or tips (or an update from the Square team) would be greatly appreciated!

@venturefam You can get the longer extended cable so the customer facing screen can be used for drive thru payments.  Even Starbies has a cable one.  I personally wouldn't be a fan of handing a 300$ piece of hardware to people in a car, but that is just me, the register screen is also just as expensive, but also no good on it's own.

I understand the convenience of the terminal.  Did you purchase the register through square directly or third party?  One thing I like to do is look at my use cases when I add equipment to try to see what problems I might have down the road.
