Unable to assign categories to printers??

After an update several weeks ago, I am unable to assign categories to my kitchen printers.  Square sends all categories to each printer.  There used to be a setting in the hardware/printer to choose which categories to print.  Cannot find it anymore.

This is what Square says but there are no options to select categories:

Assign categories to printers

After you create item categories, you can assign categories to specific printers from your Restaurants POS app.

  1. Open your Restaurants POS app and tap Account > Settings > Hardware > Printers.

  2. Select a printer station or tap Create printer station.

  3. Under Use this printer for, tap In Person Orders.

  4. Toggle on Use this printer for in-person order tickets.

  5. Tap Categories to print and select the categories you want to assign to that printer.

  6. Tap the back arrow and tap Save.     What am I doing wrong?

Hi @MSCB.  The confusion here is probably due to two things — Square hasn’t updated their documentation since they implemented printer profiles in Restaurants, and printer profiles add an extra step.  

 

Go to your POS > More > Settings > Hardware > Printers.  Select the Profiles tab and select the desired profile.  Click “Edit” next to Profile details.  Category selection will be located in “Online Orders” and “in Person Orders” sections.

I am having the same exact problem. My iPad still allows me to select the categories to print, but my Square Terminal will not.

Anyone else having this issue with Square Terminal?
