Terminal Freeze

Just got my new terminal, logged in and the screen stay on Powered by Square.  What am I doing wrong?

Hello @dallenjr !

 

It sounds like your terminal was configured to be in a connected mode. This is where a tablet/phone connects to the terminal and it acts like the old style credit card readers. (More Info on Connected Terminal)

 

To get out of that mode, swipe left to right on the Powered by Square screen -> settings -> sign out. It should go into the usual mode once you log back in. If not, you can perform a factory reset. It's available on that same screen.

 

Also, if you do have a tablet that is linked, you'll need to disconnect it too. On the point of sale, More -> Settings -> Hardware -> Square Terminal -> Disconnect.
