Square terminal payment issies

Hello! the last week or so my square terminal has been giving me major issues. And yes i've tried all the usual trouble shoot, like restarting, making sure it was up to date, log out and log back in etc. It is not recognizing tap nor chip, on and off. The last two days though its not recognizing anything at all and its really frustrating for myself and my clients. Ive been having to get everyone to e-trasnfer. When I click to pay it doesn't even show up the option for tap, it goes right to say chip card isn't detected (well yes nothing was inserted yet). And when the client then tries to insert it, nothing happens or it says chip cant be read.

is this card reader just damaged and i should get a new one? anything for me to try?
