Square reader won’t stay connected

I’ve tried forgetting the device, quitting the app, restarting my phone, and resetting the reader. 

i can connect to the reader, but when I leave the app and come back it disconnects me every time. And I can reconnect, but only if I forget device and reconnect. 

Was working fine for past several weeks until yesterday
