One of our square terminals automatically prints a receipt despite the customer selecting email or text. We’ve just been leaving the receipt paper empty to avoid wasting paper. Began after we started testing the new interface.

Have you turned off auto receipt printing? Please try going to Settings > Hardware > Printers > Receipts:
