Square Register Update Error

Hi all,

 

Square Register telling me I need to update when trying to login, but keep getting update error. Tries to download but at 0% just reverts to update error. Tried multiple resets, factory reset, disconnecting customer display, using ethernet and wifi, nothing seems to work. Anyone else having this issue and found a solution ?

I'm still looking into this for you. I am going to escalate to engineers so they can take a deeper look.

Thanks, I heard back from support that they are no longer allowing updates for the v1 register that I have and that I would have to upgrade to a new one at full price. Very disappointing and makes me not sure I want to stay with square if they aren’t going to support legacy products.

I heard the same about my register and by extension all of the register connections (receipt printer, cash drawer, etc.). I'm evaluating other systems now because I can't believe they made my system obsolete. They didn't do it to their other hardware--only the single most expense terminal that everything connects to. New ones are $900+ . As soon as I find an alternative, I'm out. Also, why can't Square figure out how to interact with Quickbooks????
