Sluggish UI with new Update

With the recent update there's a noticeable delay when changing between pages of items, essentially making all our transactions harder to handle when busy.  I've already spoken to support and factory reset both my registers which helped a little but it's still annoyingly slow.  Is there any way to revert back to the previous software?  It wasn't exactly snappy before but this is much much worse.

It's so slow the touch feels like it just has dead zones now...infuriating.

I knew it would happen one day. In fact it happened one day last year, so in all respects it has happened two days

Square Register has updated the UI, and there is no turning back.

Rearranged Front Page: Check

Laggy response time: also CHECK

Redirect after every sale politely offering to save customer: CHECK!!

All sales end up sending me to the calendar which we never use.

I begged my boss to not buy this POS, that it would be outdated faster than an ipad, and there would be no viable upgrade path...

If anyone has found a way to revert to the old UI, or at least fix some of the glaring issues with the new one, i am all ears and will buy you dinner 🙂

I don't think (but I wish we could) we can. So very slow. Completed sales still appear after finishing with a customer and we are waiting 5 seconds to load items, and longer, it has been frustrating. No idea how to fix this.

sorry hadn't checked in on this post because I was mostly venting and know nothing is to be done at this point.  Square even denied lowering my rates when they told me a review would happen after a year and I more than surpass the gross sales.  Expect me to have a specific minimum avg sale when our shop has many small transactions.  Not sure why I give my business anymore, need to look elsewhere and sell this hardware

yea, kicking myself for at least not going the Ipad route so I could at least upgrade my own hardware.  I'm sure a midrange Ipad would perform night and day better than the register.  Cant believe they charge this much for something that essentially weaker than a first gen ipad

I literally did a factory reset on both my registers....not much to pinpoint.  The software is terrible and the update has made the register so unresponsive and sluggish that it impacts our business when it's busy.  We shouldnt be forced to update if its not security related.  Actively looking for different options at this point

agreed, it's so bad now.  I dont know what kind of QA is done on these updates but I cant believe that it was released to production when there are such long delays between any interaction
