Scanner "item not found" needs unique beep

I use Square Stand, with attached iPad, and a Zebra cordless/USB scanner. When I scan a barcode, the scanner beeps. Fine.

 

But when the barcode is not found in inventory, I see an "Item not found" popup on the screen, but I hear the exact same beep from the scanner. There is no unique sound that alerts me to the error.

 

If I'm not looking at the screen when that popup appears, I may continue scanning items, and hearing beeps, for quite a while before I realize transactions are not being recorded. This is insanely frustrating. Sometimes we have to start scanning all items again, looking at the screen after each scan, to see what item failed. This takes a lot of time.

 

I found a post about this same problem back in 2021, but there were no responses.

 

 think what is needed is for the Square software to beep when an error like this appears. The scanner beep is not sufficient. 

 

Does anyone have a solution to this? And has anyone else experienced this problem?
