NFC / tap to configure

In October, I had to do a bunch of batch processing with my Square Terminals. Factory reset, re-configure, re-log in.

 

I remember it was October because I made a social media post about HOW AWESOME it was that Square had enabled NFC / tap-to-configure.

 

...it's now January, I have 56 Terminals to reset / reconfigure after being used by a client, and I cannot find any option to use the NFC functionality.

 

I loved being able to use my phone to log in to the terminal, set a mode, do everything that a Device Code would do, but without having to type in 12 characters and go through multiple menus every time.

 

Am I delusional, or was this a functionality? Does it still exist and am I looking in the wrong spot, or was it something that has disappeared into the ether? ...I loved it so much 😞
