My card reader is not connecting correctly.

My card reader is not connecting correctly. After pairing with my Samsung S9 it states - "Device Not Supported. Google is unable to verify that your device is compatible with Android." Both my S9 and Tablet A was working ok previously. Please help.

Hi @BryanB1,

Thanks for writing in, welcome to our community!

The Samsung S9 is listed as a compatible device with the Square Reader. Do you have developer options, or any other settings enabled on your phone that change the way your phone operates, or looks? Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Thanks for your reply Arie. If there were options or settings that are effecting things, then I would not know what they are. I had a chat with a square rep. and he thinks that I may have to reset S9 back to factory settings. Here is what I emailed back to him:

I have finally updated my Tab A...and is pairing with the card reader OK.
The S9+ is still not pairing properly. So could be because of the latest update or something I did in the settings.
Its strange, because when I turn on my S9 and try to pair the reader...then my Tab A fails to pair...I then have to reboot my Tab A for it to pair ??
So it looks like the reader does not like two devices trying to use it. So I will be happy for now that I can use the Tab A and see if I can resolve the issue with S9 later.
Any comments are welcome Arie.

Because the reader can only be connected to one device at a time, which might be why you're having trouble pairing it. I'd recommend turning off Bluetooth on one of your devices, when trying to pair the other @BryanB1. And yes, you might have to perform a factory reset on the S9 to pair it to the reader again. Please let us know how you go!
