We use Samsung tablets for our 6 KDS displays. Last week, all apps started acting like they were in the background of the OS. So the app is sitting under the status bar which chops off the top of the KDS app. More importantly, all of our efforts to avoid the tablet going to sleep are now useless. So the tablets all go to sleep in 30 minutes if we don't have a kitchen ticket being worked.
Specifics:
Samsung Tab A9 and A8 tablets.
Devices are all plugged in at all times.
The Square KDS app is the only app on the tablets other than the Square default apps.
All of the tablets have been working fine for over 12 months and just started exhibiting this behavior last week.
When the tablet goes to sleep, we are almost out of business since the kitchen doesn't know when the ticket arrives and the restart process requires a manager since our tablets are in steel holders in each kitchen.
The issue is super critical.
I am having the same issue, but not on my samsung tablets, just on my onn and lenovo tablet, also on those tablets i am not getting any tickets so our team is running blind, and hand writing tickets. A solution would be great
Same issue here. Have Samsug S7 tablets and they are slowing updating to a new version of KDS that does this.
Have not found a solution yet.
