Individual Passcodes

I am trying to set up my Square register so that employees have to type in their passcode before every sale, but I can't find an option other than requiring it after a screen timeout.  That option is somewhat of a fix, but doesn't help in situations where multiple sales associates are helping multiple customers back to back.  I found a blog post of how to set it up to log out after every transaction when using the Square App, but I haven't found a way to do it on the register.  Any ideas on how to require a login for each transaction on the Square register?

This would be considered a feature request at this time.

 

In the meantime, the only setting that would help would be the screen timeout setting and the lowest timeout would be 30 seconds. I will make sure to pass this one over to our product team so they can take it into consideration for future developments.

i would like this feature as well, the timeout does not work well. 

 

it should auto log out the sales clerk when the button "New Sale" is clicked. 

 

A least have this as an option for Biz that needs this feature.

It makes sense to have this option when multiple employees are operating the register at one time. The only thing I would add to the feature request is for the ability to have employees scan an assigned barcode to automatically log them in so they don't have to frustratingly enter a PIN every time they initiate a transaction. Instead, they could just walk up to the register and scan an employee barcode on their ID or nametag and start working on the sale immediately. Time is money!

I will make sure to pass this as well to our product team as I agree it would be very cool and faster to scan a badge and BAM! logged in.

Thanks JJ_. I should clarify that scanning a barcode should log a person in only for normal cashier functions (perhaps the specific permissions can be selected by the Admin). Scanning a barcode should never allow someone access to Admin functions; that should always require a passcode.

 

I hope this is something that can be implemented soon.
