How to connect Square Register to a verizon hotspot

I need to connect my Square Register ( Not terminal) to a Verizon hotspot when my ethernet connection goes down.  Can you use an android phone as the hotspot or do you need a special device.  Are there special settings or abilities that the hotspot needs?

The Register (and terminal for that matter) don't really care how the network connects to the internet, just that it does. I use my T-Mobile hotspot on my phone with my terminal any time I'm at events, and it connects just like any regular wifi network. I don't see why the register would be any different. You shouldn't need any special equipment at all.

And I'll also tell you that it's mostly encrypted text data that goes back and forth: my hotspot has a 10GB limit each month, and I've yet to come close to going over.
