How do I determine which employee applied a discount?

I have several employees who I think are applying discounts when they shouldn't be; however, when I look at the Activity Log it just says "no team member specified".  I have also checked several reports but don't see where it tells me which employee gave the discount.  Is there another place to find it?

Are they using separate log ins when they perform transactions?

If you go to the Transactions tab of your Square Dashboard it should let you click on the transaction in question and it will show you who is assigned to the sale.

Are they applying discounts to cash sales? It should be pretty easy to isolate who is skimming off of the top if you go through the transaction history.

Always maintain separate cash banks and make sure they are regularly changing their log ins. Depending on the type of business cameras are an absolute must when it comes to ensuring integrity.

Yes I can individually look but was hoping to see in a report or on a page where I do not have to individually click on each transaction.  They do have separate passcodes to log in which I thought would show up on the Activity Log but it isn't. Thanks!

Hi, after your post I checked and if you go to the Reports section of your Dashboard you want to go to the Team Sales Portion of the reporting.

You can pick your dates, export the data, or even just click on the employee names. It will show how many discounts each employee is offering..

Hope this helps!

Hi, you might want to check out VideoRegister in the Square marketplace. It is a video app that gives you video clips of every transaction. You can search for transactions that include discounts and watch who gave the discount and who they gave it to. So, if it’s an employee discount, you can see if it’s an actual employee that receive the discount, or Make sure a senior discount goes to a senior citizen. There is also the possibility that when a customer pays cash the employee can accept the cash then apply a discount that they can later steal for themselves,
