Good scale that works with Square Register

[homeprogreen]

I am changing the ficus of 1 of my businesses and I will be selling some fresh vegetables by weight. What’s a good scale that will connect with the Square Register via the hub so that it automatically calculates the purchase price. Only needs to weigh up to 10lbs.

Hi Steve! 😊 Fellow Square seller and Square Champion here!

Good news! Square Register does support compatible USB scales that can automatically calculate pricing based on weight.

A few models worth looking into are:

• Brecknell 6710U
• CAS SW-RS
• CAS PD-2

All three are listed as compatible with Square Register.

Once connected through your Register’s USB hub, you can go to More > Settings > Hardware > Scales to confirm the connection.

You’ll also want to make sure your vegetables are set up in your Square Item Library with pricing by weight (such as price per pound). Once configured, Square can calculate the total automatically when you weigh the produce!

Since you’re only weighing up to 10 lbs, I’d pay special attention to each scale’s capacity, accuracy, and price before purchasing. You’ll also want to make sure it’s approved for commercial sales by weight in your area.

Here’s Square’s official compatibility list:

One quick question: Are you looking for a compact countertop scale to use at checkout, or something more portable for a produce stand or farmers market?

That might help narrow down the most practical and affordable option for your setup.

Hope this helps, and best of luck expanding into fresh produce! 🥕🌽❤️

Looking for a compact countertop model. Preferably one that is reasonably priced but reliable
