Hi,
I'm wondering if there's a way to customize the order of items within a category within the square register. It's possible to do this online but when I change/arrange the order of the items online the order does not reflect in our square register. Is there are a way to manually do this on the register itself?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello @acmebread - I see this is your first post. Welcome to the Seller Community, we are happy to have you! 🎉👏
I don't believe you can reorder the items within the category on the register. I do not have register available to test with, so I will tag some super sellers who can confirm this for us. Thank you @wajiha @Twpchair @homeprogreen @followell6912 @vinesandrushes @ReginaRMT @Michael_L @pigsnoseinn @JamesSandbar for all your help! If you need anything else please let me know @acmebread! 🙂
Hello, are you referring to the ordering on your terminal/screen for processing payments? If so yes, I can move mine around and I put our most popular at the top and ones that aren't so hot at the bottom. It makes it faster and easier for our employees as well. I'm nor at the store at the moment to go through the steps if this is what you are referring to?
You can't rearrange the order of items listed within a category in the library.
Can’t rearrange the order in a category directly on the Square Register. But from your dashboard on computer are given the ability to rearrange the order of items in a category. Might be a thing that’s only available in Square for Retail though. Go to the category you want to edit, then scroll down until you see items and click rearrange, that opens up the screen that shows your items in order in that category. On the left side of item name you will see 6 dots, hover over the dots with mouse courser and you will see a hand appear, click the mouse button and hold it, drag the item into the position on the list that you want it to appear and release. Hit done and then save
You can move items around on the register, I believe you just long-press on the item and you can drag it or remove it.
