I usually delay updates every time because something usually breaks or changes for the worse when I let the updates through. This time I didn't see the screen pop up so the update went through before I could delay it. Now, when I do cash transactions it takes a noticeable amount of time for it to go through and tell me the change I need to give.
I looked a few other threads from a couple months ago when this problem seemed worse. I'm glad I didn't update through the holidays. This needs to be addressed. This is still a problem that needs to be worked on.

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with cash transactions.
A fix for this particular issue was released with version 6.31 of the app, which was available at the beginning of December.
I'll link here some troubleshooting steps for our Register. Resetting the Register would be a good idea in this case.
I would recommend reaching out to our direct support team if you continue to experience issues after resetting the Register, that way they can create a ticket and get our engineering team to take a look.

I am still having this issue. I have been factory resetting my Square Register every time it forces the 6.34 update. Whenever I am updated to 6.34 the cash transactions become very slow. Does anybody else have this issue? How can I get this resolved? Resetting my hardware isn't a good solution but I can continue doing this until this gets fixed.

I also have this problem. Currently on App version 6.35. Firmware 3.55.91. “Software Up To Date.” I already turned the system off and on back on again. Every cash transaction takes 4-5 seconds to process and calculates the change amount for customers.
