Has this happened to anyone? We brought up the customers ticket on the Square STAND and selected CREDIT CARD. The stand was flipped around for the customer to swipe their card and add their tip amount. After they swipped their card they CHANGED the transaction to CASH without us knowing. The customer finished the transaction and left. Our server suspected something fishy and reviewed the transaction to see it was CHANGED by the customer to CASH. I know on the Square TERMINAL you can't back out of a transaction without staff log in. How do I prevent this from every happening again on our Square STAND? I have instructed my staff to only use the STAND for cash payments and use the TERMINAL for credit card payments. Anyone else have this problem?
Northshore Pizza
Hey @northshorepizza ! Oohhhh... that is soo frustrating that people have started to figure out how to scam us with the stand. Not a fan at all.
Let's get the security set up to stop that from happening:
on your stand, More -> Settings -> Security
Make sure passcodes are enabled, then scroll down to the "When backing out of a sale" line and enable it.
Now whenever you or a customer hit that back button, it'll need a manager override. ( you can also update the permissions to allow for anyone with a login number to override the sale)
I hope that this is a one-off thing for you and it doesn't happen again!
Thanks for that info. I just had the same thing happen in our store and it was so frustrating.
