Cash not being recorded on cash report

Hello.

I noticed that my cash draw that is "open" is not recording the cash sales. For example I looked at the Sales summary for the past week and it says cash sales $125.96 but when I look at the report under cash drawer it says total cash sales 15.00. Anyone had this issue? This was after the newest update

Hi @kenslocum,

 

Square has always allowed you to run cash transactions without having to start a cash drawer. We certainly have sellers who don't have a cash drawer but still have the ability to accept cash without the drawer, and have been doing so for some time. 

 

Am I misunderstanding? Please provide some more insight.

Hi @MayaP ,

 

We have always utilized the cash management feature of square which required a new cash drawer to be started before any cash transactions could be completed. 

With this new update, even with cash management on, we are no longer required to start a cash drawer. This is problematic with our 16 locations running square.

 

I understand that with cash management turned off that you are able to run cash transactions without a cash drawer, but with cash management turned on, you should be required to start a cash drawer like before the update.

Is a new drawer being started? We are running into an issue where Square let's you ring up cash sales without starting a cash drawer. Before the update you were forced to start a drawer before doing any cash transactions. Frustrating as I have many cash sales that are not being recorded on the drawer. Help Square!

In the previous version of square register, with Cash Management activated, you were not able to perform any cash transactions without starting a new drawer. 

With the new update, even with cash management activated, you are not forced to start a new cash drawer. This is very frustrating as we have cash transactions that are no longer being recorded under an open cash drawer. Is there a way to force a cash drawer to open in order to perform a cash transaction?

Could you please tell me what kind of device you are wanting to use for Cash Management? (such as iPhone/iPad/Square Register, etc.)
