Can I connect a Square Terminal to a 1st gen Square Stand to use it only as a card reader?

I currently use a 1st gen Square Stand with a IPad for my POS and I want to keep using it. I’m wondering if I can connect a Square Terminal to use as a card reader only to the Square Stand. The Square Terminal would also serve as a back up POS if my stand fails. I would like to know the answer before I purchase. THANKS

Hey there, @Scotty66 - 

Great question! The Square Terminal is designed to be a standalone device, so it would not work connecting it to another piece of hardware.
