CAS PD-2 scale not showing up in android app

I am currently testing square trying to work out if it is the right fit for our business

i have confirmed that the square for retail can tare off weight at point of purchase.

I am now at the stage of testing and found that the CAS PD-2 (which i already own) is supported so i bought a cable from the square shop to connect this via usb to an android device for testing before i outlay 1100 for the register and it wasy the cas pd-2 is supportd via android but i am unable to get the case to show up in the app i have set the scale ECR mode to type 5 and tried a few different type c to usb hubs and a type c OTG cable with no luck what so ever

Hi @aphexcloud,

Thanks for your question, I'd be happy to help here!

Firstly, it looks like you've stumbled onto the US Seller Community for information about USB scales. In Australia, the USB scale is not supported on Square for Retail and Square for Restaurants at this time. Although, we're hoping to see some updates in this area in the near future! If you need to sell items by weight, you can do so through the Square Point of Sale app.

Since you're just testing functionality at this point, try downloading the Square Point of Sale app on your device and pairing your hardware using these steps.

Let me know how you go!

Hi Laurie,

What you are saying is contradictory to what has been mentioned by the developer community and I am also trying to add this on the regular android square pos app and it does not show up

Hey there, @aphexcloud

Stepping in for Laurie here...my advice would be to reach out to our Support Team who can walk you through troubleshooting these issues in real time.

They will be able to take a deeper look into what is going on and can go through various troubleshooting methods with you.
