This is similar to other posts (ex. https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Questions-How-To/Modifiers-need-to-pull-from-stock-another-questi... from 2022)
I have a sandwich shop. My items have modifiers such as extra meat, extra cheese, etc. It seems a very basic concept that selecting one of these modifiers should be able to affect the related stock count, however this does not happen.
Is there any timeline for when this feature will be introduced?
I am new to Square Retail and am setting it up at my retail supermarket that also offers a deli with sandwiches.
Background:
I have a sandwich that uses several items, for example: bread, 100g meat, 50g cheese.
The individual items are all in stock and have stock counts.
Question 1:
When I sell a sandwich, I would like the system to deduct the sub-items from the available stock. In order to do this, I have set the "sandwich" item up as a bundle, with the 3 sub-items and weights defined.
Is this the best way to handle this?
Problem
Using the above method of bundles, the option to add modifiers does not exist. This would be helpful for things like extra meat, extra peppers, extra cheese, etc.
Is there any workaround for this?
Hi @lennys26 thanks for your post 👋
I don't have a timeline on when modifiers will have stock attributed to them, unfortunately. If I do have any updates, I'll let you know here - I know that it's a popular request.
Have you tried setting up something similar to what you have with Modifiers with Variations/Options? Those features will allow you to track stock.
