Is GrubHub just dying???
Hi all! Not specifically Square related, but certainly a concern for all of us in the food industry! Is GrubHub just dying on the vine? We have seen a HUGE drop over the last few months compared to our Uber orders. Haven't seen any official chatter on what's going on other than general stuff about them not keeping up with the trends, but nothing about them possibly going under, or being bought out.
Just wondering if everyone is seeing the same decline in volume from them compared to others, or if anyone has any news (aka gossip) to share on the topic.
Thanks!

Same thing is happening in my area (Detroit, MI), GrubHub was the go to 3 years ago, but every year, Uber and especially Doordash are taking customers from them. I now get Doordash orders from customers with notes saying how awful Grubhub is. Not sure why but likely due to customer service. I notice we get a lot of refunds/errors on UberEats, some on Doordash but NEVER have I seen a refund on Grubhub. That to me means that Grubhub is not looking out for the customers very well.

Grub Hub definitely isn't as popular as the other 2. I am curious if people have issues with DoorDash - when we adjust our hours there they always seem to get reset in their system and say we are open, when have said we will be closed, and then they tell us they aren't going to fulfill orders though us because we aren't responding - Duh, we told you we would be closed. curious if others have this issue.

Interesting. My cafe is in Portland and by volume and revenue Doordash is #1 by a very slim margin over Grubhub. Uber/Postmates sucks in both volume and revenue (sucks meaning less than 10% of the other two).
Delivery drivers for Grubhub are ALWAYS on time, same with Doordash. Uber you can count on anywhere from 15 minutes to never showing late. What I absolutely hate about Doordash is their habit of doubling up orders on delivery drivers/pickup. The second order lags behind the first and I shudder about the quality of the meal by the time both are delivered.
But as to the question, Grubhub is still strong with our shop.
