Has anyone else experienced Square Dashboard showing that modifier changes were successfully saved, but then the changes are completely gone after refreshing or reopening the modifier?
I just realized this has been happening while I’ve been making a massive cleanup and rebuild of our modifier system.
The workflow is:
Edit a modifier or modifier display name
Click Save
Square confirms the change was saved
Leave the page or refresh
Reopen the modifier
The original value is still there
There is no error message. Square is explicitly confirming the save as successful.
This is a huge issue because I have been making changes across THOUSANDS of modifiers and modifier relationships under the assumption that Square was actually saving them.
I now have no reliable way of knowing how much work was lost or when this started happening.
This is not a POS sync issue or a delay in changes appearing somewhere else. The actual modifier record in Dashboard is reverting after Square says the save was successful.
Has anyone else seen this recently?
Square team, can someone please confirm whether there is a known issue with modifier edits or Display Name changes failing to persist in Dashboard? A false “saved successfully” confirmation on catalog changes is a pretty serious data integrity issue, especially when managing a large restaurant catalog.
Also related, if you spend a significant amount of time editing a large modifier group... without fail... every time... when it's time to save, it says "error" and you have to start it all over.
This is pretty... basic stuff..... Please get this fixed ASAP.
